Characteristics

WIPTAM is a cobalt-based wire for fabricating clasps, retention elements, and fixation posts. It is a color-resistant wire that, due to its specific properties, offers considerable advantages in cold fabrication, such as elastic hardness when bent. Unlike other iron-chromium-nickel wires, it can be soldered without difficulty. The loss of elastic strength due to the application of heat during soldering is recovered during subsequent mechanical treatment (bending, grinding, and polishing). The wire is also ideal for orthodontic work requiring soldering.
