Even tiny premature contacts on the order of microns can cause functional disturbances in patients (often temporomandibular joint disorders) and can even impede saliva flow. Therefore, visualizing occlusal contact relationships places high demands on the control medium. Occlusal contacts often have a very small diameter, making them difficult to discern on highly polished ceramic or metal surfaces. The control medium must be extremely thin to ensure clear and accurate visualization of the actual occlusal contacts. Bausch occlusal foils meet these requirements and are particularly distinguished by their strong markings, even on difficult-to-monitor surfaces. The thin colored coating, only 6 microns thick, consisting of wax and pigment, also contains hydrophilic components to significantly improve color transmission, even on moist occlusal surfaces. Bausch Arti-Fol® articulating foils are especially suitable for visualizing static and dynamic occlusion in various colors. In the first step, static occlusion is checked in red, and in the second step, dynamic occlusion is checked in black. The order of the colors can also be changed. For a more precise representation of dynamic occlusion, several colors can also be used. Bausch Arti-Fol® is supplied in four different colors. For visualizing opposing contacts, all sheets are also supplied with a colored coating on both sides.
